Describe your role at Hungerford Technology
In my role, I focus on protecting client organizations from cybersecurity threats and improving their overall security posture. My day-to-day includes investigating security alerts, reviewing Microsoft 365 and endpoint activity, and implementing security controls, with the goal of identifying risks early, responding to incidents quickly, and keeping client systems, accounts, and data secure.
What is an accomplishment you are especially proud of?
I think a professional achievement that has meant a lot to me is how I’ve contributed to the strengthening of cybersecurity improvements across all of our organizations where there is a lot of variability like different needs, environments, and levels of maturity.
By reviewing security configurations, investigating threats, improving policies, and guiding users through incidents, I have been able to reduce risk while making security more understandable and practical. I am proud of the trust I have built by providing clear recommendations, responding calmly under pressure, and helping clients make lasting improvements rather than only addressing immediate problems.
Tell us a little about yourself outside of work
Outside of work, I enjoy creating and recording music, developing content for social media, and exploring new technology. I also value mentoring students through programs such as CyberPatriot and enjoy traveling, and competing in basketball tournaments .
What’s a fun fact that most people may not know about you?
I write, record, and promote my own music as an independent artist and have gained a little over 5 million streams across all platforms.
What is the best IT tip or advice you would share with others?
Before clicking a link in an email, hover over it to preview the destination and confirm that the web address matches the sender and context. When in doubt, open the company’s website directly instead of using the link in the message.
